Ménière's Disease
Episodes of severe vertigo, tinnitus, and hearing changes from inner ear pressure.
Ménière's disease is a disorder of the inner ear caused by a build-up of the specialised fluid (endolymph) within the balance and hearing organs. This change in fluid pressure disrupts the normal function of the vestibular system (balance) and cochlea (hearing), resulting in episodes of vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus and a feeling of fullness in the ear. The exact cause is unknown, and symptoms often occur in unpredictable attacks.
